I am considering purchasing the raytheon radar/chartplotter with a raytheon gps receiver for my cd33 and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this setup or has any alternative suggestions? I like the thought of consolidating all functions in one display and the individual raytheon units (chartplotter or radar)have been giving good reviews by practical sailor but I have not seen anything on the combined units.
Thanks,

raytheon radar/chartplotter?

Re: raytheon radar/chartplotter?
Larry - I purchased a Raytheon SL72 radar unit two seasons ago. At that time I contacted Raytheon to ask about a GPS unit which could be integrated. The Raytheon Customer Service representative recommended I consider a Furuno GPS unit. At that time Raytheon did not offer a competitively priced GPS unit until you reached the models will full options. Having recognized that I would not be using 50% of these features I thought the Furuno unit a good substitute (the Furuno has many useful options and some which I still do not know what they do). The system works perfectly and all the GPS data is displayed accurately on the helm mounted radar monitor. I am very happy with the customer service and products which Raytheon supplied. I would certainly consider purchasing all Raytheon components if they have expended their product line. If not, the Furuno GPS is a good alternative.
