After Action Report - Shelter Isl.
Hi All,
Dream Weaver (Dick Barthel - CD25D), Raven (Steve Laume - CD30C) and Evening Light (CD33 - Don & Diana Parquette and me) left Valiant Rock at 0900. Dick beat it west on Long Isl. Sound while Raven and E.L. sailed together for awhile. (Winds were WSW at 20 to 25 kts - we had quite a sail over, beating into that wind was a little rough.)
You would have had a wonderful beam reach
)
D. W.) and Raven took the Gardners Bay route while E.L. sailed west in Long Isl. Sound to Plum Gut. They faired much better and arrived well before E.L. (~1740 ish.)
Steve rowed Dick and himself over to E.L. in a CD10
We hosted the potluck (w/ Dick, Steve, Don & Diana Parquette and me) with smoked bluefish, smoked cheese, beef stew, beer and wine, etc., etc. and 'gammed' on until ~2200.
Sunday morning George Van Dresak (sp?? Isabella ??)- dinked over. Seems he was at a mooring on the opposite side of Coecles Harb. but did not want to dink over Sat. eve. due to the winds - We did not know he was even in area
D.W. sailed out EARLY (~0800), E. L. was underway ~1100 and Raven sometime after.
We arrived SYC, Pine Isl. Bay ~1700. Nice downwind spinnaker run![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
