Hauling Strap Positions on CD33

This is my first year at my new marina and the hauling procedure is a bit different than I am used to. The boat owner is provided the use of a manual mast crane for mast removal (if you want to take the rig down). The Dock Master operates the travel lift but the boat owner is responsible for positioning the stands and covering. Will I need to tell the lift operator where to place the straps? Is the strap position different on different makes or models of sailboats? Any advise would be appreciated.

I don't have a good target for the forward strap but the aft strap needs to be forward of the cockpit so that the boat is not lifted by the rudder. The forward strap risks sliding forward because of the angle of the underbody and it helps if the forward and aft straps are tied together as low as possible to prevent the sliding.

Herb: The hauling straps for the CD-33 should be positioned the forward one just aft of the first porthole and the back one goes between the last porthole and the cockpit coaming. If you send me your e-mail address I can send you a copy of the Cape Dory 33 manual page where it shows the picture of her underbody and the exact placement for the straps.

Hi,
I hAVE HULL # 40 AND HAVE FOUND IT USEFUL TO PUT SMALL PLASTIC TAGS ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE RUBRAIL SHOWING THE PERMANENT LOCATION OF STRAP POSITIONS.

THE PREVIOUS EMAILS WERE CORRECT IN THEIR PLACEMENT.
