Prop Pitch
What is the best"prop pitch for a cd 25. I am thinking about buying a 6ph 4stroke tohatsu extra long shaft because it comes with alternator /charge.r It's cheaper than short shaft with charger installed after . They come with an 8" pitch and offer a7" and a 6". I've heard that you should have a flatter pitch . The flatter the better?
Here's what I did
Jimmy,
When I first got my CD22, I had your question.
Here's what happened.

Prop Pitch
Jimmy,
I just ordered the same engine, only I went with the 20" shaft and paid the difference for the charging system for ease of storage and taking the engine in and out of the well. I ordered the 6" pitch factory prop based on the response I got from Tohatsu/Nissan based on the information that I provided them with respect to size, displacement, hull speed, etc. of the CD 25.
Here's a copy of their email response:
Steve,
Thank you for stopping by our web site. I would recommend the 6 pitch if you want to use one of our props. There is a better one on the market for your application produced by Mercury. It is what they call a "Elephant Ear" high thrust prop and can be purchased through a Mercury dealer or on the internet at www.onlineoutboards.com.
If I can be of any further assistance please let me know

You may want to check out the Merc prop.
Good Luck,
