Incredible race

Post by John Vigor »

I totally agree, Rick. It was an incredible race, probably the most exciting since America's Cup racing began. Nobody interested in sailing should miss this one. If you can't watch the 6 p.m. replay, make sure to tape it for later viewing, even if you know the result by then. I sure hope Zeida was watching.

Cheers,

WHEW, What A Race

Post by Oswego John »

John V,

What a race that was. Tit for tat during the entire race. I won't say any more and spoil it for others. Let's just say, "The Butler Did It."

I did learn what a knife tack is.

Thanks for the heads up.

I dont know what is more interesting that there is such a thing as a knife tack or that they practice it and have spares onboard just in case.

They think of everything...well almost lol

Hi Rick,

I don't know what I was thinking. I forgot to thank you for the heads up, also.

So thanks,

Cup Race

Even though I have done only a small amount of racing myself, that was clearly an amazing display. Makes me wonder about skipping a morning of work tomorrow to watch the next one!

Makes me feel a little better when my sail handling ain't what it oughta' be....after watching probably the best well oiled crew in sailing suffer the same tale of woe

Great race!!

Start booking your flights or planning your voyage to kiwi land,
it would be good to see more more CD's here.

This has got to be one of the closest series in recent times, if not ever. Teams and boats are very evenly matched, and some great racing!

At 47 knots, I do believe tis sailboat would win the cup!!!

As some young of the past might exclaim 'Unfreaking real!" Average of the guys running back and forth from sponson to sponson: age twenty-something, IQ in the single digits.

;)

..and ain't this the best Cup in decades!

The only thing missing is permission from the "tower" to take off!!
