LED

Post by Julian »

Starnge this should come up - so am I! I was thinking of replacing the whole unit (s) with ones that use LED lights to save on battery drain.

Does anyone have any experience with these?

Yes indeed. I replaced both of Seraph's running lights with LED units from Dr. LED http://www.doctorled.com/
1/4 the current draw and very bright.

For the cabin I used MR16 LED units from superbright led http://www.superbrightleds.com/led_prods.htm

I do like them despite the cost.

Cost vs. Benefit

Post by Clay Stalker »

I have to offer a slightly different take. I just replaced the two interior dome lights with the standard, Titan gold 5.5" lights from Defender....at a cost of $15.99 per light...and they look great. I also considered the LED version as I only charge my batteries with the infrequent use of the diesel. But at a cost of $59.99 per light for these, I decided against it. I use a kerosene lamp for light most of the time anyway, so it just didn't seem worth it.
