This whole thread reminds me of the joke where the two guys are standing on the bridge taking a leak. One remarks how the water is so cold and the other replies that it's deep too. I can't even get my dog to pee in the cockpit but there is no reason why a woman couldn't use the drains too. My mom bless her soul used to use a coffee can when we went fishing off shore for the day. That is back when women were tough. Okay I am going to duck for cover now, Steve.

John Vigor wrote:So what is this, the maritime micturition website, for crying out loud? It’s disgusting, that’s what it is. Not to mention boastful. All this talk of using the cockpit drains. Yeah, right, whose dingle-dangle is long enough to reach the cockpit drains? And if it ain’t, where does the micturate end up when the boat rolls? No wonder you guys have grunge under the cockpit grating. No wonder your cockpits stink.

And even if some of it does dribble down the cockpit drains by accident, do any of you have the slightest idea how uric acid makes bronze corrode? You’re micturating your way to sudden submergence.

I’m also amazed you ever manage to get any nice ladies to sail with you. They, at least, have the decency to micturate in private decency in the assigned urine receptor down below while you men boastfully wave the distinguishing marks of your sex willy-nilly for all the word to see.

I honestly don’t know what this board is coming to, but I’m beginning for the first time to realize why the hole at the back of the boat is called the cockpit.

Yours in disgust,

John V.

Omigod, you guys are undoing all my hard-won convincing that the cockpit is NOT a urinal.

Besides, Federal Regulations allow you to pee directly overboard to your bladder’s content, but if it passes through the scuppers first, it becomes an illegal discharge. Hold that thought.

On a related subject, Peggy Hall (the headmistress) suggests that one way to help maintain cleanliness in the head area and keep down boat odors is for the male crewmembers to pee sitting down. I know. That’s one that I have absolutely no chance of winning.

Question

Is this now officially a pissing contest?

Rich, that is too funny! But please don't show us photos of any more of your tools...

New Polling Data

Post by Dean Abramson »

Going into the new presidential election cycle, a quick look at the numbers clearly suggests that Americans are most concerned about three basic issues:

1) Where to urinate,
2) Whether to lock one's prop,
3) When Sea Hunt should buy a boat.

Dean:

Hey, I "resemble" that remark. :!:

Sad news - The CD 22 did not work out.

Happy news - I am planning a trip to Missouri to look at a CD 25D.

Mr. Vigor:

As a Sicilian, I do not have the thoughtful concerns expressed in your post. "Range and bearing" are, fortunately, not an issue.

Political Parties Respond

Post by Dean Abramson »

The Green Party proposes that urination be prohibited worldwide.

The Democrats think props should have the personal freedom to spin freely, in any direction, and have as many blades as a prop wishes. In addition, they have voted funding for a program designed to make locked props feel better about themselves.

The Republicans have declared that Robert's boat is his own damn problem, and cut funding for all small used sailboat acquistions in the interest of fiscal responsibility. While quietly ordering three new aircraft carriers.

Dean, that's the funniest thing I've heard since (MC) Karl Rove debuted as a hip-hop(not) artist. :D

Thanks for a great laugh!

Dear Sea Hunt: I know your type. You're the kind that pees in your pants, right? Straight through your dive suit, right? Straight into the sea. No need for cockpit drains to empty your bladder, right?

Hey, and did I see you wink at me? I hope that's not what I think it means. I'm a happily married man, dammit. Well, anyway, I've got a wife. And a mortgage and a 24-year old Cape Dory. I've got enough company for tonight, thanks.

You need to get involved with that 25D quickly. It'll take your mind off things. Sheesh! You Sicilians!

Proven Method.

No need to wizz in the cockpit. Kind of a poor-man's version of Carter's device: Just grab an empty Gatorade bottle. Got the idea from my 3 year old son with a busy bladder on long car rides. To be considerate of the crew, be sure to rip off the label or otherwise mark it (skull and crossbones) if you won't immediately be able to pour it out to leeward. (Those new flavors come in very weird colors).

Geez, I had one of those little johns on the Typhoon and it worked okay. On the CD-30 those antifreeze jugs come in handy all winter after I use the original contents to winterise the head and holding tank. The secondary product is then aged and used as deer repellent for the Christmas tree farm. Waste not want not, Steve.
