Re: Typhoon after deck core material & thickness

Hi Josh,

I realize you've posted about replacing the after deck on your Typhoon back in 2002. How did it go? Am looking at doing the same on my Ty. Any tips aside from the ones I have read above?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Typhoon Newbie questions

Is the white stern light installed backwards?

--Jim[/quote]

No, it's the reflection of the deck. It looks like it is, doesn't it?

Re: Typhoon Newbie questions

Here are a couple more. I didn't take into account that the boat might have been a salvage. My other thought was that it didn't have an outboard (In CT any vessel under 19 ft that doesn't have auxiliary gas power does not need to be registered. Not sure if this is the case in MA). Timeline that I kn...

Re: Typhoon Newbie questions

Thank you Jim and Radsailor, The link to Roberto's info was useful, however because the HIN doesn't start with a CPD but with MSZ it appears to be a HIN issued by the state of Mass. in 1995 and was the 41st vessel issued an HIN that year. I'll look into the the risers for the cam cleats. Thanks agai...

Typhoon Newbie questions

Howdy All, First, I'd like to say how grateful I am that this forum is available and hope to contribute in the future. I recently purchased a 1972 Typhoon Weekender with a "Z" HIN number= 0041. I am pretty sure this is not the 41st typhoon built. Any suggestions for finding out which numbe...

Re: 1979 Typhoon Weekender for Sale

Thanks Jim. I have two engines- 1989 Johnson 2 stroke 4 hp that has the forward/neutral that I rotate 180 for reverse, as you mentioned and a 2002 Mercury 4 stroke 5 hp that is a bit heavier but has F, N and Reverse....both with external tanks. I'll have to sell both engines and search for an intern...

Re: 1979 Typhoon Weekender for Sale

Very true MGPHI52. After reading some other posts about typhoon owners and gas tank set ups, I realized that Bob was referring to the internal tank on the engine. Thanks and appreciate the response. I think I will either look for an engine with an internal tank or stick with the external tank. The a...

Re: 1979 Typhoon Weekender for Sale

Hi Bob, Hope you are well and safe these days. Not sure if you're still with the CD.org board or not. I hope so and that you've gotten another CD. I am a new CD owner and just recently bought a '72 Typhoon weekender. I'm curious about the "internal gas tank" you mention in your ad. Could y...
