gps antenna placement
I have a Garmin 172, mounted at the helm. I bought an anetnna adapter from Garmin so that the antenna is now built in to the unit. Very compact and no wires to run.

Gel Coat Cracks
I have a 1987 CD 30MkII, and the boat had a zillion gel coat cracks when I bought it in 2005. I consulted with a local yard and the consensus was; the only way to permently fix the problem was to strip the gel coat. This we did, cabin top and sides, deck, and cockpit. All areas were then algripped. ...

Jammed Furler.
Hi All, I have a new(2 yr. old) Harken furler on my CD 30 MkII, and a 130 genoa, also new. Sailing yesterday in 15-20kt winds, I had the jib furled to about 110%. When the time came came to furl the sails and head for the mooring, I could not furl the jib. Try as I might I could not pull the jib pen...

Dorade Tops-CD 30 MkII
I'm in the process of restoring a MkII. The tops of the dorade boxes, where the cowl vents mount, are plastic, (Lexan?), and are quite cloudy in appearance. Does anyone know if they were clear when new? I don't know whether to replace them or not.....Thanks..Bob

Steering Wheel diameter
Thanks Boyd for going to the trouble to measure your wheel. I'll order a 30 in. stainless from Edson.

Steering wheel diameter
Edson doesn't have a spec for the MkII. The CD 30, yes, but not for the MkII. The CD30 takes a 22in. wheel. I think the MkII was the first model with the T configuration cockpit, which will accommodate a larger wheel.

Steering wheel diameter for CD30MKII
I want to replace the non-original steering wheel on a CD 30MII that I'm restoring. The wheel is a 28 in. diameter. I'll replace it with an Edson, but I don't know what size to buy. Anyone know the diameter of the original Edson wheel on this model CD? I tried Robinhood, but they couldn't help.

Turning bronze green
I know bronze will tarnish with time. Is there any chemical I can buy that I can brush on to turn bronze green immediately?
