I need to replace the sliding hatch for my typhoon...

Try as I may to make progress, I am slipping backwards... I towed my typhoon over to my friends house to get some help and I lost the sliding hatch somewhere along the way...

Please contact me if you can help.

Re: Core repair: worth the while or a losing battle?

Thanks for the feedback, I removed the hardware and cut the deck away. The balsa was wet and rotten. I cut through a bit of the bottom layer of fiberglass deck a few inches from the transom, wish I hadn't done that! Things are drying out...

keel repair --- any suggestions?

Here are a few pictures of keel cracks on Typhoon.

The first picture is turned 90 degrees to the left, the joint you see is between the keel and the rudder.

The boat was holding a large amount of water after many years of sitting in the woods with no ready sign of seepage through these cracks.

Re: Core repair: worth the while or a losing battle?

This looks like a good approach to aft deck repair. I ordered 3/8 balsa from defenders yesterday, it arrived today using the cheapest shipping, I guess, I'll be giving it a try this weekend...

Any other suggestions for a soft aft deck?

Typhoon #249 on the mend

Typhoon "Hope", hull number 249, was lifted out of the woods where she sat for a very long time. The original owner put her away and never got her back in the water. I'm hoping to get him out on the Bohemia River in the spring where he sailed her off a mooring for years. I stopped at the c...
