Re: Finding a bronze anchor locker cap
I lost mine on my 31 last year and got mine at spartan marine like someone mentioned. they have at least 2 sizes make sure you measure. I did not and guessed and got it wrong and had to pay for the return and order what I should have.

Re: Typhoon or CD22?
When I was out looking for a boat to learn on I was looking at a lot of boats. I was a a dealer here in mpls and he told me that the best boat to learn on was a typhoon. he had one and sold it and wished he had it back. so I happened to be at a different dealer and he had just got one in so I bought...

Anchor locker drain in CD31
I have looked in the manual. done a search on this forum and can not find the answer. maybe some of you owners of a CD 31 can help. It appears when I look in my anchor locker there is no drain. is that correct? if not where is the drain? can one be installed? I have just installed a maxwell windless...

Re: Staysail boom
After you guys installed the staysail furler did you notice any more trouble in light wind of getting the jib over in a tack? As we all know in light air sometime the jib gets caught. of course no problem in normal sailing but I would think the furler would take up more space and reduce the space fo...

Re: Bermuda again.....maybe
Jim: when I answered your E-mail last night on another matter I did not realize you were back home. I had not been on the forum for a few days and did not check your progress after page 2. I still thought you were on the way to Bermuda. Sorry for you bad weather but glad you are ok. very hard I imag...

Jim:
you are on a trip in your boat. hope you are having fun. A picture would be great, but no hurry. I can weld so I can make one myself. Thanks for your reply even though you are sailing.

backup Ruddle handle
I bought a CD31 last fall, put it in the water this june. I noticed a about 4 inch bronze cover aft the steering wheel on the deck. I opened it and found it opened on top of the rudder. My guess is there is a handle made (maybe come with the boat) that allows steerable when the regular steering whee...

Re: boat direction in backing
Thanks for the reply. This has happened in 2 different marina's in open water lake superior in a area protected from wind ( happened while anchoring close to shore) we put it in neutral and then reverse. I will try what you said to try. maryland school of sailing talked about higher RPM for a few se...

boat direction in backing
Just started sailing a CD31. notice the following when docking putting boat in reverse the stern goes port. However if not docking just putting the boat in reverse in open water the stern goes starboard. this makes no sense. I was with a captain with 30 years sailing experience, still acts as a capt...

Re: FCC license renewal
I just went through this. I am a ham with a general lic. and had my IC-7100 opened up to the marine channels. then talked and read many articles and decided I was not going to go this route. I wind up getting the 2 licenses and bought a Icom M802 Marine radio to put on the boat. Reason is again as a...
