I need to replace a halyard winch on a CD26. A Lewmar #6 from around 1986 would match the one currently installed. Any suggestions would be appreciated.Thanks

I notice nobody talks about chemical strippers to remove old layers of bottom paint. Is there too much risk of damaging the gelcote? I was thinking about something like peel away or a less aggressive stripper designed for fiberglass.

I will likely purchase a CD26 this spring. The boat currently has an old Honda four stroke with an above water exhaust port.
