Re: Looking for Bronze
Thanks Steve. I'm familiar with those and I can also get some new bronze from other sources like Spartan but I'm really hoping to find some original pieces that were probably Wilcox Crittenden. Good chance that someone here has a collection. I used to but have nothing at the moment for my current pr...

Looking for Bronze
Looking to buy small bronze cleats and chocks suitable in size for CD10, CD14. Perhaps take-offs from one of those boats?
Let me know what you have.

Re: CD14 New to Me!
Hi Josh, Also a former typhoon owner as well as other larger keel boats. Less is more IMO. I haven't experienced the plowing that Brace mentions but I have a new sail and replaced my bent 13' mast with a 12' one that brought the center of effort down to where it felt right. I have only felt the need...

I will if I still have some rosin paper big enough. I'll check this weekend.

Re: Wanted: CD14 Rudder
I was able to trace my broken one by piecing it back together and screwing a thin board across the joint to hold it together.
If you know it to be the original one it would be better to copy that than have someone else trace one of unknown origin.

CD14 Mast
On the first sail I discovered that my mast was bent to starboard. I reoriented the masthead to have it bend towards the stern but on the next sail it bent further. Have already discussed with Rig-Rite but they're quoting a 12' section and mine measures 13'. Maybe it was too tall all along? When I f...

Re: CD 14 nearing completion
Today's sunny 50 degree weather is making me think spring and boats. Here are some photos showing my completed CD14. Still have to add some sailing rigging and install the centerboard but had her out for several rows last fall.
Planning for sail trials late spring.

Re: CD 14 nearing completion
Brace, If I understand you correctly what you're looking for I think might be called the rudder bridle. It's kind of a closed Y shaped loop of cast bronze that the pintles on the rudder slide into. Then you hook the rudder to the top eyebolts and it is spring loaded at the bottom to engage the lower...

Re: CD 14 nearing completion
Thank you all for the kind remarks.
Dick, The non-skid is something I considered and may end up adding. Would love to see your CD10. Please post pics.

Re: CD 14 nearing completion
Here're a couple of photos of the lower rudder fitting. It measures 3-5/8" X 1" with the arms extending out 1-1/8". Perhaps try Spartan Marine. They may even have the original mould. Their bronze outboard bracket (similar to the ones on numerous TYs) has a deck plate that could possib...

Re: CD 14 nearing completion
I'm not sure either. It was some time ago that I saw it.
Although, it does look like it will be a good choice for the non-skid deck areas. Carry on.....

Re: CD 14 nearing completion
"Moon Dust"
Is that the color sometimes used on spars on some modern boats?
I seem to remember that before the current trend of white spars. Early Alerions etc.?
