No offense taken....
I enjoy the comments on the board, regardless of the pros and cons of any project we think about doing. Great information and informative, to say the least. It's always great to hear so many different opinions. That's what makes this board so wonderful! I did change out the original tangs with SS fi...

Bilge pump
I had the same questions and although I have a CD25, it seems the same issues you have, I had. With the info from this board, I followed what appears to be asked in Q2. That is I went with a high rise as soon as possible and then slowly descended to the outlet over the length of the cockpit. I didn'...

trying to set things in perspective...
I didn't think so many replies would come forth from an apparently misunderstood and innocent reply. So, in trying to comment on the various things stated, here are some observations. Although I may be in error, I believe it was Stadler that designed the CD25, not Alberg. I don't doubt he (both) was...

Rigging, etc....
No apology is needed. I didn't take it anyway but as a valid comment and question. Basically, I just redid what he had already done. Even though I have a Loos Gauge, I've never used it on the boat's standing rigging. I do it by feel with a helping hand to keep the mast straight. I believe the only t...

Wow.....
What a lot of info re vent loops...... Guess I'll finally install one between the pump and bowl somehow. Although I've never had any problem with the install I did. The new thru-hulls and ball valves, new hoses, tank, outside vent, macerator, bowl, etc have all worked excellently. Since 99% of my sa...

resizing.....
I don't know all the pro's and con's of this subject in regards to a CD 25, for sure. I was just going by what the PO had told me. He had been sailing since he was a youngster and took his father's CD25 from Seattle up to Alaska where he lived on it for two years while working in the fishing industr...

Confused....
My out hose from the Jabsco goes directly to the 6 gal. holding tank. From the holding tank I have three hoses. One goes to the macerator and then to the discharge thru-hull. Another one goes to the deck fitting for pump outs. The third one, much smaller, is a vent hose that runs to the side of the ...

Boards
Probably a silly question but here goes. What's the best way to secure the drop boards in the companionway? I had thought of slide bolts but really don't want to drill holes in the companionway frame. The PO had something attached to all three boards on their port side that had been attached with tw...

Rigging
When I was refurbishing my CD25, we went with what was on the boat at the time. The PO had told me that he had done everything he could to her as if it was a 35'. All rigging was oversized so I went with that. Although I got all new stays and shrouds, I didn't change the back stay as it was insulate...

GPS Antenna
I, too, went with the stern rail and clamp on base. Very easy install and it's always clear of any obstacles that might interfere with reception. A few years ago I went with a Lowrance 320 unit with a swing out mount. Works great! Love it...

There is no vented loop installed at this time. Plans call for doing so in next round of upgrades. Meantime, both thru hulls are always off and banded shut. The macerator is directly behind and aft a bit of the head and under the holding tank. The panel must have been upgraded by PO. I didn't know i...

Fold Away Step
Well, the pciture of that fold away transom step is just what the Dr. ordered!! The PO had used a flimsy aluminum fold up that hung over the side. It would fit under one of the lazarettes. While restoring the CD25, I bought a new SS slide down ladder that was originally going to go on the stern behi...
