thank for the input it looks like the st2000 wins. I just put the boat in the water after 4 years of work so i have been trying to put the finishing touches on it. This sight is a wealth of info. thanks for all of the help. Greg

I have a CD26D i sail in the atlantic and soon in the pamlico sound. I am interested in putting in a raymarine st1000 or st2000 tiller pilot. Will the st1000 handle the ocean or do i need the st2000. I am sure that the st1000 should handle the sound. If any one has any experiance with a newer model ...

My 1987 cd26d did not have a negative bus bar. It only had a piece of # 8 wire striped with all the negative wires wrapped around it and wrapped in electrical tape. it was located behind the fuse panel / over the fuel tank you could acess it from over the fuel tank. it was pushed up in the head line...

well i finally traced the grounds. The main ground that went behind the battery switch and the breaker panel was spliced 4 times on its way to the grounding plate. They were copper screw type connectors but the cape dory factory must of used up all there #8 wire scraps off the floor. Then the best t...
