CD 26 cockpit floor dimensions
Does anyone happen to know/have the dimensions for a CD26 cockpit floor? I'm vacationing in Maine and came across an old teak cockpit grate that I could reconstruct to fit my CD26. I'm heading for home on Saturday 9/14 so any quick responses would be appreciated.

Sailing on Chester River Memorial Day Weekend
To the Cape Dory (33 ?) captain sailing on the Chester River on Sunday morning of Memorial Day weekend. I have a great photo of you sailing towards the Chesapeake Bay and Kent Narrows. I believe the name on the stern read Impromptu from Maryland. I was sailing a CD 26 towing a red dink. If you would...

Re: Asymmetrical spin turning block mount
Today I had the opportunity to travel to the boat and was able to inspect the underside of the deck. It seems that I have a choice of mounting the eye pad in four locations, all structurally different. My first choice is to mount close to the side wooden toerail directly on the deck which is still p...

Re: Asymmetrical spin turning block mount
I have used the stern docking cleats for the past year along with a climbing runner from REI to attach the block. The problem is the spin sheet interferes with the stern rail. Those constant lateral pressures on the stern rail will eventually lead to problems down the road with it's attachment point...

Asymmetrical spin turning block mount
I am planning to mount a Sea Dog Eye Plate on each stern quarter of my CD26 so that I have the ability to install turning blocks for my asymmetrical spinnaker. I have been reading about different techniques of drilling the deck prior to installing and am questioning what I may run into as far as the...

Spinnaker turning blocks
I am rigging my CD26 for an asymmetrical spinnaker and was wondering if anyone else has done something similar to their CD. The areas of interest for me are with the rigging of turning blocks, possible winches and cleating of the spin sheet. I am open to more modern applications but would like to ma...

Adding spinnaker halyard
Has anyone added a halyard tang for a spinnaker halyard to the top of a CD26 mast or any other flat-top aluminum type masthead fitting? I am thinking of drilling and tapping the aluminum masthead and installing a stainless metal strap with a welded d-ring on the end to attach a block. Any issues or ...

Yamaha 8hp high-thrust 4 stroke
I purchased a Yamaha 8hp high-thrust 4 stroke extra long shaft for my CD26 two years ago and it works beautifully. The only alteration I made was with the mounting board. I moved it forward a few inches to keep the back of the engine hood from hitting the well. I still haven't gotten used to backing...

Yamaha 8hp high-thrust 4 stroke
Last year, I purchased a Yamaha 8hp high-thrust 4 stroke. Awesome motor!!! I ,too, had a Johnson Sailmaster (I still do and it is for sale for $450) which worked well for me in my CD26. The Yamaha, so far, exceeds my expectations. It is quiet, powerful, and very importantly, efficient on gas. If you...

Yamaha 8hp high-thrust 4 stroke
Last year I purchased a Yamaha 8hp high-thrust 4 stroke with electric start for my CD26 after much searching. I have absolutely no regrets other than parting with $2000. The engine pushes the boat wonderfully and it uses far less fuel than my previous OB (Johnson Sailmaster 9.9). The only thing that...
