Wet exhaust back flow prevention?
I have a Westerbeke 12B Two With fresh water cooling. I'm refitting the exhaust system. I'd like an exhaust system that prevents water from backing up into the engine. What are the alternatives available? What other items should I be concerned about with the exhaust system?

Air Cleaner for Westerbeke 12B Two?
My first diesel. I'm refitting my boat and am being told the engine does not need an air cleaner. This doesn't compute. I understand that clean air, and lots of it, are essential for a diesel to run right. Am I missing something?

Can someone please explain the rationale for the CD-22 having a masthead rig vice the Ty Senior having a 7/8ths rig? The boats appear very similar in the essential measurements. I believe the two share the same hull. It appears the Ty Senior should be a bit lighter due to less "furniture" ...
