Re: Going Electric on a CD25
Electrolysis ruined my lower unit and after that I stopped keeping my engine in the well. The light weight electric sounds great, but not having enough power to push the boat in a breeze would be an issue. I have been searching the Internet for a bag that can cover the lower unit in the water when s...

Re: Going Electric on a CD25
"Mahalo" - As far as pulling the engine every couple of weeks to let it dry out and kill any thing that have gotten up inside, it might work, but I think it's tough to know what is a safe time frame. I used to spend considerable time every fall after I had pulled my boat taking a coat hang...

Re: Going Electric on a CD25
Dick your board rig sounds like an interesting idea, do you have a picture of it? If so, I’d love to see it.
Thanks.
Peter

Re: Going Electric on a CD25
Thanks Dick. It is a great engine, but wrestling it in and out of the well is getting harder every year. I need to figure out a way to keep it in the well, but protect it from all the sea life looking to get up inside.

Going Electric on a CD25
I'm considering replacing my 5hp Honda 4 stroke with an electric motor and wondering if anyone is using an electric and what advice you might have.

Replacing a Deck drain
I need to replace the deck drain on my 1974 CD 25. I am not having any luck finding the replacement part. It is a white plastic flush mount with a flange OD of 1.75" with a hose attachment into a 1.25" hose. I've looked at Defender, Jamestown, West Marine and none of them seem to carry tha...

Re: Tiller Handle
Thanks for the heads up. I ordered one from Jeff at Rudder Craft this afternoon. Very helpful. He recommended the 2"H x 1 1/4" W. The season is almost upon us. Happy sailing.

Re: Tiller Handle
Thanks Chris. Did you go custom or use the stock issue for the CD25? My butt end is 1 1/4" H x 1 1/4" W. The butt end on the stock issue is 2" H x 1 1/4" W. Seems like it would fit fine.

Tiller Handle
My tiller handle broke on my CD25 Buglight and I need a replacement. I found Progressive Woodworking online and I am wondering if anyone has used them or has any suggestions as to where else I might get a replacement tiller handle? Thanks.

Re: Damaged lower fiberglass skin.
Thanks everyone for your input. I went with the method I read about in the West Systems manual with a small modification. Originally I made a small piece of laminate to slip in the void and epoxy it in by pulling it up and using string to affix it in place. The piece was too big to get it to seat pr...
