Sold *** Lewmar Winch and Whale Gusher service kits *** Sold
I've got new, un-opened service kits that I no longer have a need for: - Whale Gusher 10 Pump service kit (AK3706) - Lewmar Winch Maintenance kit (B2030) Hate seeing these items sit in my garage. Probably retail for $50+. I'd be happy to see them go to someone who can use them for $25 for the pair. ...

More info
The exhaust flow is warm to the touch and the gun, which I borrowed from a local small engine repair shop, is accurate and in Fahrenheit. FWIW, 100 degrees C would be about 210 F, so the flow would be very hot to the touch. A little more background... When I removed the impeller earlier in the seaso...

Low operating temp
My MD7A won't go past 100 degrees. This is based on both the temp gauge and readings from an infrared temp gun with readings taken on the engine and at the exhaust outlet. This all started about a day after replacing an impeller due to reduced exhaust flow and high operating temps. Now it runs cold....

Pre-purchase question
I'm narrowing my boat search down and one of the 27s I'm interested in was repowered with the larger Yanmar. I had a bad experience repowering a powerboat with a heavier engine in the past, so I thought I'd ask. Research has shown me that the 2GM20 is only about 30 pounds heavier than the YSM8, so I...

Does the 2GM20F throw off a CD27's trim
Wondering if the 2GM20F in a CD 27 causes the boat to squat? Specs say it's a lot heavier than the YSM8. Comments from those with first hand experience would be appreciated. If weight is added forward to rebalance the boat, does she sit lower, overall, and sail differently? Thanks.

Ask Roger Crawford
Mark- As a fellow Melonhead, my best advice would be for you to drop a line to Roger. He knows "the best" places to launch a Melonseed, including some spots that most would consider hidden. He always seems to come up with some great places to sail during the regattas. It's worth noting tha...

the drop board frame
I'm most interested in the frame. I'm trying to get a feel for the effrot involved in fabricating a new frame and boards. It might become a questions of getting on a 27 and obtaining measurements, but this would be helpful in determining how seriously to pursue this one.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Source/pics of companionway drop boards and slots for Cd27
Looking at a CD27 that is missing both the companionway drop boards and the frame which they rest in (the u-shaped, slotted frame). Wondering if anyone knows of a source for replacement. The boards shouldn't be too hard to fabricate, but the frame seems more problematic. If anybody has undertaken th...

Re: Boat Pricing
Jim, Every boat I have ever sold took about two years to sell it and I wanted to sell it. My problem is I don't ever buy the most popular boat in the marina so when I sell, I have to wait for some one with my taste in boats! If you want to be sure you'll be able to sell a boat quickly look around t...

Value of an older CD 28
I've been on the hunt for a CD 28 for quite awhile. I've looked at '76 model a couple of times and I know the boat's been available for a long time (about 2 years). Looks to be in very good condition due to a caring owner. Owner is asking 13,500. If we eliminate the obvious problems (engines seems o...
