If I were in freshwater, my fouling problems would be far less trouble I believe. In our end of the sound we have enough barnacles, mussels and general 'boat beard' that many active sailors have to dive and scrub the bottom some several times a season. Here is a shot of my outboard hanging off my CD...

I winterize with stabilized fuel and carb fogging (letting it run with the fuel line detached until it dies). Then I make sure all the barnacles are off (if any). I give it a couple coats of trilux and let it go for the winter.

That usually does the trick.

It's so very cold this morning. . but that won't stop me from sailing tomorrow. It will likely be my last day of the season.
