Specifications: Cape Dory 14
The Cape Dory 14 was designed to meet the need for outstanding rowing and sailing dinghies. The sailing model, with the modified gunter sail rig, has proven itself a very able and lively performer. The expert sailor as well as the novice will find it challenging, fast and well balanced. The CD14 can be righted single-handed and has 600 lbs reserve flotation. She is a fine inexpensive sailer for clubs and camp use and ideal for frostbiting. The CD14 is beautifully constructed -- solid fiberglass hull (mat, roving and cloth laminate) for ultimate strength, seamless, leakproof and of minimum maintenance. Solid mahogany gunwales and seats finished to a high natural lustre provide lasting beauty. All hardware and fittings are marine bronze, stainless steel or chrome plated brass. She has a safe nonskid interior.
