From her newly designed and restyled deckhouse, the Custom 40 leads the way for the Cape Dory Fleet. The Cape Dory engineering staff has taken the proven hull of the CD40 and truly redesigned her . . . deck, cockpit and interior . . . to produce a vessel with contemporary, graceful beauty and ample cruising accommodations.

The Custom 40 has wider, longer cabin house that substantially increases interior spaciousness. Her interior is all varnished . . . bright and easy to care for. She features a private aft stateroom with a double berth and owners head with shower. Her galley, dining area and navigation station have all been redesigned to increase cruising comfort and function.

The Custom 40 has large dorade vents to ensure fresh air below on offshore passages in foul seas. Plus 4 large deck skylights, 8 opening ports and 4 large fixed ports for a brighter, well ventilated interior.

Her large cockpit has a watertight hatch for easy direct access to the engine room. It helps separate mechanical maintenance tasks from the galley area. You can tighten belts, change oil, pack stuffing boxes, check your steering system and open and close seacocks right from the cockpit of the Custom 40.

The Custom 40 can be personalized with optional custom hull colors, chrome plated deck hardware and a tapered, flared teak toerail.
