I"m looking to add a positive vent to my CD 28. I heard about solar vents, does anyone have comments pro/con about them. As of now, I have one Dorade over the head and two cowls on the transom.

I've had a nicro mini vent installed on my Typhoon (Plumb Krazy) for the past three years. It works very well, running all day, all summer. I installed it on the only flat surface available, just ahead of the jib track on the coach roof. I instlalled a passive louvred vent on the aft bulkhead of the cockpit and set the nicro's fan blade to exhaust air. When I got the boat, it had been neglected for some time and was loaded with mildew. I cleaned thoroughly and used a mildew resistant paint on the interior and haven't had any mildew since.
