I was lucky enough to inherit a Cape Dory 25' sailboat from my father last year. I am applying for membership at a local yacht station and would like to know some specifics about this boat, especially since I am not close enough right now to the boat and cannot find the books that my Dad had on the Cape Dory 25'. Somehow, he has hid them...
If anyone has any information as to the BEAM and DRAFT (which I think to be 3 & 1/2 feet), etc. , would you please email it to me? I would so greatly appreciate it!
Glad to be speaking to someone of such a prestigious group...

Re: Cape Dory 25'
Without my manual in front of me, the CD25 draft is 3' and I think the beam is 7' 6". Definitely under 8'.Beth wrote: I was lucky enough to inherit a Cape Dory 25' sailboat from my father last year. Cape Dory 25' Specs
From a ca. 1980-81 brochure provided to me by Whilden Parker, the CD 25 specs are as follows:Beth wrote: If anyone has any information as to the BEAM and DRAFT (which I think to be 3 & 1/2 feet), etc. , would you please email it to me? I would so greatly appreciate it!
L.O.A. 24"10"
L.W.L. 18'0"
Beam 7'3"
Draft 3'0"
Displacement 4000 lbs.
Ballast 1700 lbs.
Mast Height 31 1/2'
Designer: Cape Dory Yachts (i.e., not Carl Alberg)
There was also a 25D produced a little later which I believe was an Alberg design.
Well, dunno about that, but we sure have good taste in boats.Beth wrote: Glad to be speaking to someone of such a prestigious group...
