Hi All,

RA & I visited Dave on Wed., 28 Aug. and again today (8 Sept.) He is coming along fine - though not at the speed the insurance company would like. Voice is greatly improved, some small movement in left foot (multiple muscles are getting the ‘signal’!!), looks at you squarely (head-on) when talking and facilities are getting sharper. (Read: ‘Zingers’ are on the rise.)

I had thought he could read, but that was my error. As a result of the stroke Dave lost vision in the left side of both eyes. He can recognize pictures, people and read print approx. 1/4 in. high, but fine print is in the future.
The left fingertips now have a very little feeling. The connections between the brain and the arm muscles are still not ‘repaired’.
Dave is now eating all of each meal they give him. Some of his near term memory is still not working AND he is not always filtering what he says - read; 'Socially Correct ;-)

Carol is a SAINT!! He greatly looks forward to her arrival, each day.

Keep the e-mails, cards letters, etc., etc., coming. They ARE a great help. I will gladly deliver any stories, e-mails jokes, etc., etc., just mail or e-mail them to me.

Fair Winds,
Leo MacDonald
