CD28 Fairlead block

I'm looking at buying a CD 28, but there are a lot of cracks in the fiberglass around the fairlead block for the club footed jib (hopefully you can see the picture). I was wondering if there were any suggestions for dealing with this. One option I'm considering is putting on a reefing genoa and not using the club footed jib. Is this a problem that others have seen in the 28?
