After sailing this season I noted the shrouds on my T y (1089) had loosened and needed some tightening to avoid considerable play. This did not happen to the fore and rear stays. Is this expected?
Thanks.

Running rigging tension

Shroud Tension
No...not to be expected. First check that you aren't doing any harm to the cabin top by checking that it is not sagging under the mast tabernacle. If all is ok there, then you probably had the turnbuckles loosen, which can happen if they didn't have cotter pins. Even with jam nuts they have been known to come loose.

Re: Running rigging tension
You didn't mention if you had perhaps recently replaced the standing rigging. It will stretch a bit when new.
