Typhoon gave way to Pearson Ensign

Post by John »

I finally gave up trying to find a typhoon in Southern California, and purchased a Pearson Ensign. It is in great shape and is on a truck to my harbor here in Ventura, California. I am very curious to know if anyone has any idea if there are any of these boats on the west coast. They say that the Ensign is the biggest full keel class, but all the boats seem to be back east. I'm looking for someone to get tips from, etc. closer to home....anyone have any info? Thanks!!!

John, congratulations on your new boat. I used to own an Ensign and consider it the most fun sailing boat I've ever sailed. There were some differences among the boats based on year/hull #. You can get parts and great information and support from the association and from Ensign Spars in Dunnedin, FL; they now are making new Ensigns from the old molds, and have parts, etc. Enjoy!
