At the upper end of the rudder shaft on my 1986 Cape Dory model 330 is a large support bracket. This bracket is just below the key slot for the emergency tiller and above the steering cable attachment. The bracket runs port to starboard and supports the upper end of the rudder post and is angle iron about 3" on a side and @ 25" end to end. It attaches to either side of the hull and has a "U" bracket (bushing?) around the rudder shaft bolted to it. This large bracket appears to have been made of steel and has almost totally rusted away. I would like to replace it but cannot find a replacement part. Edson says the part is not theirs and Robinhood Marine has no idea what I am talking about. Does anyone know where I could find this part or a drawing that I could use to have the part fabricated locally? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. BK
