Anyone have any advice for rigging a Typhoon w/e with a spinnaker? The mast has a block above the headstay tang, which is good, and there is a cleat on the foredeck center which I could tie a block to for a downhaul (though I can't see topping lift hardware); the mast has a small vertical rail for the pole inboard end so it looks like most things are in place already. Where would the aft guy blocks be attached since the genoa rails don't go far back? Is it an end-for-end jibe or a dip pole? And what would be an adequate pole length? Is the rig stressed to take a spinnaker?
Thanks for anyone's input!

Spinnaker rig on a CD Typhoon w/e

Re: Spinnaker rig on a CD Typhoon w/e
Here is how I have set up mine. First I have a furling head sail. So I moved the exit block for the headsail above the forestay since this was no longer needed. It is now the spinnaker halyard. I mounted a double block above the car track on the mast for the car lift and the pole topping lift. at the base of the mast I mounted a cheek block on each side to route the car and topping lifts aft. For a pole car I use a Schaffer towable car on a bungee cord at the bottom. At the bow I have mounted a small swivel block for the fore guy. At the stern I mounted 2 schaffer 300 series swivel lead blocks just inside the toe rail and as far aft on the trim that runs along the transom. For a pole I use a 6.5 foot forespar unit 1.5 inchs diameter. The spinnaker itself is home made from a kit from sailrite. I also have two additional winches but have not mounted them yet. As for the jibe I do a simple pole dip. good luck

Re: Spinnaker rig on a CD Typhoon w/e
have you considered an asymmetrical spinnaker? you can actually fly these singlehanded if you like.

If the full rig gets a little too hairy a project, that's exactly what I'll do. Thanks for the input.
