Planning on sailing down from Erie PA to Clev. Ohio and would appreciate any info on getting into and staying in Cleveland. Chart looks like there could be a lot of big commerical trafic. Local info would be very helpful!
Thanks

Is your 27 done already? Or are you taking some time off on your 25?
Hope all is well

Re: Local Info Cleveland
Hello: I recently traded my Ty in for a Tartan 27 this year so I check in the CD board from time to time. I live in Cleveland (grew up sailing at Ashtabula Yacht Club) and have my boat at Edgewater Marina on the west end of the Cleveland Harbor. I sail up and down the area all the time and yes there is tremendous traffic such as commercial tugs, freighters, tours and power boats.
If you're planning on transient dockage, there's plenty of Yacht Clubs around starting with Forest City and Lakeside Yacht Club on the East end. Then there's a few clubs up the Cuyahoga River. Finally Edgewater is at the western end. All offer reciprocal dockage if you're from an ILYA club.
Anchoring might be tough because of wakes and such, I'd try for the eastern end before you get past Burke Airport.
I hope this helps a little,
