Zinc on prop shaft--28CD

Post by Bill »

I had my MD2B completely overhauled, incl shaft and prop. The prior zinc between the prop and thruhull on the 1" shaft was a torpedo like
zinc. My great mechanic put on a hockey style zinc. Will this design
creat bad vibes being only a few inches from prop? Thanks, Bill

Dear Bill,
I use the hockey puck style zinc on my CD-28 without any vibration problems.

So that is what a hocky puck looks like! Somehow I thought they were rubber. It's amazing that more players aren't hurt by the puck instead of by one another.

We are lucky to be able to keep that much ice from melting long enough for all those guys to fight for an hour. And all that plexiglass around the rink is really to keep the crowd from getting to the floor to use the ice in their mixed drinks.

Hockey is now starting to make more sense to us southerners.

BTW, now that the heat index is over 100 degrees, the quilts and electric blankets can be put away and we can go sailing overnight in comfort. We'll drag out the cold weather stuff again next Christmas, though.

Go 'Canes!!!
