This trip produced some difficult weather and trying times but, as usual, LaVida gave us perfect performance. Fair to say, we all came back with smiles, and an growing appreciation for the genius Carl Alberg put to pen and then to boat when he conceived the 33. She really shines when the going gets rougher than rough.
We had some great canal cruising, enjoyed the Hudson River, had fantastic offshore sails, nice anchorages, expensive marinas.
Got our butt spanked for 13 hours on the Chesapeake off Cape Charles, we were awed by the natural beauty of the ICW/Atlantic passage.
We were over crowded in Key West, found Bahia Honda was a high point of the cruise, began to hate crab and lobster pots.
Last but not least, its proving difficult as hell readjusting to life at home dock.
We were very fortunate to have had crew from this list join us on various voyage legs. THANK YOU one and all. Your presence and contribution to LaVida were greatly appreciated!
We met some wonderful people along the way. Had some very memorable encounters, like 11 adults in the cockpit of a 33, all rums in hand!
I felt VERY lucky that I only had one grounding (into a mud bank)this trip, something of a record for us! Anchorages were decent and possibly due to 911, many boats stayed away. The waterway wasn't crowded, but the weather was rude.
Next voyage 2003 (leaving lake ontario late may, early june) will be out into the Canadian Maritimes from Lake Ontario. Pristine anchorages, quaint sea dwelling villages, nasty fog, all the good bits

Reserve your berth for this one early.
It'll be wet and cold, but i'm assured, on the highest of authority, this cruising ground can not be passed up.
