Cheers! I looking for a sample contract for sale with standard language that can be used by private parties. My document file on the sale of our CD33 and purchase of our Hans Christian (both private parties) hasn't produced them. I must have put them in a VERY safe place! We may have an offer on the Hans soon and I'd like to utilize an appropriate contract. Seeing that no one has responded I'll suggest you take a look at the following site:

The sample contract there is not a private party agreement (it's a brokered contract) but it looks as though many of the terms can be used in a private party agreement. It's not a California contract, so you may want to run any draft by a California attorney before signing anything.

Boat US used to have a sample contract that you could download and modify. I don't know if they still do, but they do offer a service to act as an intermediary in a private sale. They will do paperwork, hold deposits etc. There is a fee involved if they provide services.
