First time "boarder" here. In Oct. I bought a CD28, hull # 50, spiffy clean with Volvo MD2b. Although I grew up with inboards(never paid attention to them...regrets) this is my 1st inboard. So, so much to learn that when I found out about the BOARD, I was sucked right in, as the saying goes. Living on a Maine island is logistically tough to get alot of info so this board has treated me well re Volvos, Hull,
electronics, sails, and on and on. It is the nomenclature that I really prize. Almost every morning now it is the sunrise, coffee, bagel and the board. So, to all, thanks for enlighterning me. Bill on Chebeague.

Re: My thank you to the CD Board
Hello Bill and welcome,
I also have a cd 28...and like yours, she came with a volvo md2b...I am very happy with this larger diesel. I rebuilt the engine without removing it...I took off the heads, cylinders, pistons, and removed the rods...I replaced the valves and rings, honed the cylinder walls and but in new crank throw bearings....and she runs like a top. It's great having that 24 hp when you need it...consider a 3 blade prop...I put on a three blade and that boat will stop fast when I need to...great for tight manuvering...even makes backing more manageable...What year is your boat? Post a picture if you have one.
