After following a few of these threads it is obvious that winter is/has taking/taken it's toll. I think we all need more winter boat projects.

I like the Winter project, if I ever start on it. Weather has been bouncing back and forth too much.

Even Northern California!

Ah yes, last Sunday...steady breeze, air temp about 67, just a few bass boats here and there along the shore...and me out for a quiet sail. Got home just before dark and later over bridge someone commented on the fact that it looked as if I had been out in the sun.
Yup...

Why don't we discuss what is the best religion to practice on a CD?
We could have a friendly discussion on the pros and cons of each! :)

Hi Serge,,

Do you have a Typhoon and do/did you keep it up in Lake Sonoma above Santa Rosa? A friend of mine keeps his Typhoon up there as well,,,I think I met you about 5, 6 years ago. I lived up in Ukiah,,,

ENOUGH!

Post by M. R. Bober »

I have frequented this board for a long time, and I am reluctant to post this message. Every now and then a topic/opinion that doesn't belong on this site (IMHO) flares into bad feelings. Like now.

Walt has explained that the increased traffic on this site has raised the cost of hosting OUR forum. Wasting traffic/money on non-Cape Dory issues is unwise and could ultimately ruin the best friend your boat's future has, this site. Would smart people do this? We are smart people. We own the Cape Dorys. Let's not reprove the Law of the Commons.

I like to think that those of us who use this site for it's intended purpose are friends, who lend a hand to our fellow CDers. We aren't the type to turn our backs on other sailors (not even the fake pirates and those lost in time). At least I hope we are not.

Free speech is not the issue, nor is it mutually exclusive with civility. There are sites--I'm sure--where strangers can insult other strangers with impunity, for the sheer joy of being contrary. Go there for that. Vent. Then come back here and share your knowledge with your friends.

Every best wish,
Mitchell Bober
