Where to find lines plans?

Post by Chip Gavin »

I'm attending boatbuilding school at Washington County Technical College in Eastport, Maine, and could really use a set of Cape Dory Typhoon lines plans. They would be for study only, not to build a boat. Anybody know where I could find plans? (I need full lines plans, not just the specs posted on this web site.)

Thanks,

Chip

Try the Peabody Essex Museum, in Salem MA.

Alberg plans available at Peabody Essex....

....I assume the Cape Dory designs are still owned by Andy V. or some of them may have been sold with the Cape Dory name....but that's just speculation on my part....perhaps Dave Perry would care to fill us in ?

At any rate, these plans are available at the musem....I was told they were donated by Carl Alberg's family... They are not free, and as of last year they were not available on-line.....you need to contact the curator......notice there are no Cape Dorys listed...

Chip:
Try Andy Burton at Trident Studios (http://www.tridentstudio.com 401/846-9505). He sold me a copy of the original Alberg lines drawings for the CD-27 and, as he makes a model of the Typhoon, he probably has the lines for them too.
