Water Leakage

I am experiencing some rain water leakage coming in from the area around the hand rails on the top of the cabin. Quite possibly, all I need to do is tighten the mounting screws. I have to assume these screws are located under the pop fittings on the inside of the cabin roof. Not wanting to risk dinging up the roof, I thought I would ask first before getting out the screw driver to pry them off.

Also, is there a balsa core in the roof that I may need to vent as part of this job? I have an old camper where rain water leaked into the core material on the roof. It is now too heavy for one individual to raise.
