I just treated myself to Maptech's "digital chartKit 2001" which is based on ChartNavigator 4.4 I am trying to get my old Garmin GPS-II to talk to it. I can upload routes and waypoints from the GPS to my computer (or vice versa), but have not been able to upload the "track" traveled by the boat to the the charts on the computer. The "radio button" for uploading "tracks" is dimmed out and unavailable (disabled). Has anyone encountered this problem that can suggest a solution. THANKS

Re: GPS -- Maptech Chart Navigator communication
Joel,
It looks like Chart Navigator 4.4 disables tracklog import from all GPSs. I tried several newer Garmin models, including the popular eTrex. Maybe this feature is reserved for Offshore Navigator.
I would encourage you to try out my navigation software: it's called Memory-Map Navigator. You will find it is much more responsive and easier to use that Maptech's. You can download a copy from www.memory-map.com. The free evaluation includes GPS data import/export.

Re: GPS -- Maptech Chart Navigator communication
Here is how it is done.
You hit "GO-TO" and select "Traceback" rather than a waypoint.
That generates a route named 'traceback' (which you can rename, of course) which creates up to 30 waypoints that mimic your stored track. Then you can upload that route into ChartNavigator and display it along with any other routes you wish, so save it on disk by asking to export the route.
