Hi
I just brought a CC30b and had it tranported on truck from FL to
NY. I'am presently stripping it down with Interlux 299E stripper.
I noticed that there are some small round dark blue dots smaller than the size of a pencil eraseor head appearing, with some of them
leaking dark blue semi liquid.
What is this and should there be anything to worry about. I was going
to stripe the boat and let let her dry out for a month or two and
then WEST Epoxy the blu dots and also take care of any blisters.
Then finish the job with a barrier coat.
Thanks for any responses

Re: Blue dots on Hull CD30b
Wally,
Those blue dots are most likely blisters that haven't broken yet. Open one up and I'm sure a blue liquid will ooze out. If so you have drain and grind out to good glass and fill with a glass fortified epoxy. Check your west system book for thier recomendation. After that a surfacing putty and then the barrier coat.
Good luck,

You are doing the right thing. Strip entire hull of the gelcoat down to the fiberglass. Let her dry out completely for 2 months, then using something like Interprotect 2000 do her entire hull over again, twice. Barrier coat her with the West epoxy system -2 or 3 coats, then paint the antifouling. No more blisters. Good luck.
