Does anyone know a source for OEM-equivalent replacement of the aluminum "L" fitting and plastic downtube for the 15 gallon diesel tank on a ('78) CD30 with Volvo MD7A?
For four years now, I've been trying to find the source of an air leak that rears its ugly head after 2 hours+ motoring; the only thing I haven't replaced is that assembly (that, and the tank itself).
Thanks for any help!

Geoff - Can't help with the fitting, but I had a very similar problem on my MD7A that turned out to be the gasket in the lift pump. Maybe you've already checked this. Best of luck.Geoff Safron wrote: Does anyone know a source for OEM-equivalent replacement of the aluminum "L" fitting and plastic downtube for the 15 gallon diesel tank on a ('78) CD30 with Volvo MD7A?

Re: "L" fitting and down-tube for fuel tank
my 79 cd30c has the same setup and few year back i pulled the tank and gave it a good wash..of course tha wasnt my problem...there was
a sticker from tempo and i went to them for parts...i replaced l assembly and plastic tubes...im still having problems eng runs fine
at idle for hours but under load say 1800rpm or hier...it leans up
an stalls...
any way check the plastic tubes as they crack from the bottom half way up and as the fuel level drops bellow the crack tube it
sucks air and stalls the eng...in emergency i was able to switch
from feed to return by reversing hoses...
good luck/cheers
