hi.
i'm bidding on a cape dory '19 (typhoon) but it comes without a trailer.
it has a 2' 7" (full) keel and i need a good trailer for it.
any ideas/recommendations?
my intent, by the way, is to "trailer" the vessel to area lakes, the gulf coast, and west coast and not have it in a slip. any comments (i.e., pros/cons)?
thanx.

Re: trailer for cape dory 19 typhoon
the triads are great trailers, but if the launch area ramps you will be visiting do not have a lot of water for float off/float on, you may want to consider a roller-style trailer with some form of support for the keel. these work well for a lot of us to get to the water and for winter storage. you will want an adjustable keel support so you can take some of the weight off the rollers when the boat will be on the trailer for an extended period of time.

Re: trailer for cape dory 19 typhoon
The trailer for our Ty was made by the Long Trailer Co. in North Carolina, telephone# 252-823-8104, model # SA 2600 GSDK. It is a 'float-off' system that works like a champ. Very heavily built. We had them send us an extension which sinks the trailer on even a low angle ramp. Good Luck, Robert
