Here's my situation: My CD26 is sitting in the cradle waiting for the annual spring ritual of sanding and painting. I have noticed maybe 2 dozen small blotches where blue ooze has leached through the bottom paint near the rudder. I've been using Interlux Bottomkote, brown naturally. Last year there were maybe the same number, maybe 3 or 4 less. This is and always has been a fresh water boat.
I talked to my boat yard about stripping/repairing (as required)/barrier coating/and applying a multi-season paint. They suggested that if these ooze spots were blisters, I should do the Bottomkote this spring and enjoy the season. Then have them open up the gel coat in the fall to let it dry before making repairs over then winter. Does this sound like a plan?

Re: Blue ooze redux
Yes, for this reason---After opening up the gelcoat it will/should take 3-4 months at a minimum to completely dry out before they put a new vynilester resin bottom on the boat.
