adjustable jib sheet leads

Post by Patrick Turner »

I'm thinking of upgrading the Jib car arrangement on my CD36 and have been considering adding turning blocks and an adjustable sheet lead system. Anyone done this and if so, are you happy with the arrangement? We often make adjustments here and the old setup is diffucult when under a load of any kind.

For those not familiar.....the adjustable sheet lead setup consists of a jib car (usually without a pin stop) that can be pulled forward along the track while under load via a small 4:1 tackle arrangement attatched to the track. The line leads back to the cockpit area for easy access. Sometimes there is a bungy cord attatched to the aft end of the jib car to assist in pulling the car aft along the track when need be.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
