I picked up Parfait's new prop zinc from West Marine today. It is made by the same company as the ones in earlier catalogs: Canada. It has a Martyr logo on it, so I guess that is where the catalog reference to Martyr comes from. There are no burrs on the inside of the zinc that need to be squashed and the bolt has a dab of something like silcone in a small portion of some of the thread to act as a lock. It appears that they have been reading this message board! The body of the zinc is about 1 3/4" in diameter and 2 7/8" long. There is no washer of any kind under the bolt, but it seems like it couldn't hurt as this is the only point of solid contact between the conical bronze nut device and the zinc. In fact, it might be wise to put star washers on both sides of zinc to ensure good electrical contact with the shaft.
I guess the next question is whether it will fit.
Spring is coming,
Ken
