I have a 1981 CD 36 with a Spartin mast. The interior of the mast has 2 groves running the length of that take small (3/16" or 1/4" Dia), "sail" slides to tie electrical cables to so they will not slap. Does anyone know where one can buy these small slides? Does anyone know how to reach spartin Marine; are they on the net?

Spartan Marine is part of the Robinhood Marine complex in Georgetown ME with the same owner as the former Cape Dory Yachts Inc. However, when CD went out of business the sold "Spartan Spars" to Rig Rite Inc, 63 Centerville Rd, Warwick, RI 02886, 401-739-1140, http://www.rigrite.com/, email; info?@RigRite.com.
Rig Rite carries these little interior mast slides. I purchased two packages last winter as part of a mast rebuild. Pricey little things they are

Ed,
The tracks within the mast take standard sail slugs that you should be able to purchase from any marine supply shop/chandlery.
We purchased some from the store at the marina where we keep our boat when we added an anchor light at Realization's masthead but I cannot remember what size they are. (And our masts may not have take the same size slugs.) You could always purchase a few different sizes -- one of each -- then try them in the mast to see which fits the best then go back to the store, return what you don't need and purchase enough of the desired size to attach your cables. They should be spaced about 18 inches apart or less.
By the way, here are links to <a href="http://www.robinhoodmarinecenter.com/">Robinhood Marine Center</a> and <a href="http://www.spartanmarine.com">Spartan Marine</a>.

Re: Mast interior cable slides
We had Deaton Yacht Service in Oriental, N.C.rewire the mast in our CD36. They ran all the new wire and cables through foam sleeves. No slap, no noise, no wear, easy to do and low cost.Ed Kelliher wrote: I have a 1981 CD 36 with a Spartin mast.
