I'm looking for tips on spreader-end preparations to avoid sail chafe for CD-27. I'm reading that leather or tape beats plastic covers or wheels (ugh!) on the ends. Anybody want to comment?
TIA

Rubber spreader end boots but secured with UV "black" tie-raps. I like these instead of tape for securing the boots because they were not unravel thru the years. I've had mine up for some 7 years now.

I use rubber boots on our CD30 with black wire ties as like Dana, except I go one step further by adding a few wraps of "amalgamating" rigging tape. I know others that use only tape without the boot. Both techniques work better than standard rigging tape.
