My prop is totally barnacle encrusted. I have not used anything on it. What is the best solution? (By the way, the prop is a self-feathering, self-pitching Autoprop. The best investment I ever made, except for the barnacles... THanks for your opinions.

Re: fouled prop
Take a look thru the threads about things people have tried on their props. e.g. Propeller Barnacles ... Another solution, is quite recent.
Re: Try this...
Jerry,
First scrape off as much of the growth as you can. Then clean it real well with On & Off hull cleaner(wear gloves, that stuff is acid!). Wash the On % Off off completely with lots of water. Then simply coat the prop, and anything else you don't want encrusted, with plain old liquid stove polish. Don't buff it or do anything to it. Just smear it on. You're done! Depending on were you are, this should keep the Critters off of your prop......

Re: fouled prop
Use anhydrous lanolin. $15 at CVS for a lifetime jar. I went from a totally encrusted prop two years ago to a barnacle free prop this year. IT WORKS
