Given that even a bad day full of hard work on the boat is more fun than a good day in the office, I plan to spend more time boating and less time working. Retirement seems ideal, save the loss of income.

I resolve not to be obviously envious of Ken's retirement!! I am nearing that point where it would be possible..but alas, the Nasdaq has delayed that idea for a year or two...

I hope you enjoy every day Ken!

Cheers!

Larry,

I'm not there yet, but I can feel it coming. Withdrawal from a nearly steady flow of income for 40+ years is very difficult. I am watching the same indexes you are, but I'm getting tired of it. How much of a boom do I need?

I heard of someone recently who was living on board for about $16K a year. We have a few live aboards in our marina who seem quite happy with a simple existence. Why do I need to be locked up in an office when I could be watching sunrises and sunsets from the cockpit?

Inertia is a terrible thing, but I do promise myself to spend more time aboard than last year. Every little bit helps a lot.
