Thanks to the efforts of Ken Coit and Chris Reinke we now have the art work for all of the different versions of the Cape Dory.(At least I think that we do.) The plates that we made from the original sand castings had small imperfections in them. Our investment casting process even picked up all the small blemishes from over the years. The remainder of the plates will be slightly thicker with the art work and letters much sharper. (The original plates were done as sand castings and then surface ground on a toutch sander. This method lead to some indistinct letters and numbers.) We are going to begin to produce the tooling this week for the plates for which we have the most outstanding orders, ie. the CD 25 and CD 27. Advance orders are appreciated so that we will know how many to make of each type.
